“Thank you for saying that.” She blinked quickly, and she heard a rustle of blankets. Her mind detoured into a very unprofessional space. “Did you just get into bed?”

He laughed quietly. “Yeah. Are you?”

“Yeah.” There was something illicit in that simple agreement. Illicit and enticing all at once.

“So we’re in bed together?”

Our Review

This is the first book by author Jessica Scott that I have read. I was not disappointed in the least. As a lover of Military Romance this was a refreshing change getting the view point of a woman that had been to war, been injured and lost her husband.

Sarah is left widowed and raising her child as a single parent while in the military. She has no family to help her and finds her self overwhelmed at times. I love how strong she is and how much she loves her little girl and does not give up.

Now Sean is back in her life. A love from long ago. Can they forgive each other and make a life together? I was cheering for them the entire time!

This was an amazing and heart warming story from start to finish. The characters were very likable, well developed and the story flowed beautifully. I highly recommend this wonderful story.

Some authors are able to reel you in by a single phrase and capture you for the rest of the story. That is what Leah does with Black Iris. From the very first line, I was a goner.

I feel like this book has such a great message in it, and that everyone should read it.

Leah sets up an intriguing timeline that gives the reader tiny clues as to where Laney is going to take us with her story without fully giving it away. She kept me guessing until the end, and I honestly didn’t know how Laney’s story was going to culminate. Leah has weaved a beautifully tragic story that will stick with readers for a very long time.

I must start off with this is going to take you on a roller coaster! You have been warned! I absolutely LOVE Gina Whitney’s characters, and Luca does not disappoint. If you love a good heart wrenching story of young love, finding it, falling in it, having your heart broken and then having it pieced back together to be shattered again…..this right here is for you. My heart raced at times, I felt so sad for Allison she really goes through it. Luca, I know in my heart he is a good man, sometimes good men make really bad decisions. You will also meet Ollie, I think he comes from a good place not sure yet.

Archer, he is another one you will meet and well, honestly I have questions about him. But this story is all about Alli and Luca, *sighs Luca…….What Luca does to Allison is unforgivable, it truly is. I know that she is heart broken I felt her pain. But I also know that she will live, she will get stronger and Luca will regret every single thing he did wrong, hell he may not even survive his own hell. Will Allie survive her heart break? Will Luca survive his own hell? Will Ollie finally win over the love of his life? Gotta read it!!!

*On a side note I noticed some reviews complaining about editing yes there are some typos, but I swear I didn’t think they were a big deal and hell there is probably ten in my review (lol) I don't know, kuddos to you for having the courage to put yourself out there Ms. Whitney! I love your stories!! Keep them coming!!

Fisher’s Light Shines a Bright and Poignant Light on a Difficult Subject.

Tara Sivec has been on the top of my One-Click pile almost from the start of her career. I absolutely LOVE everything she writes and never miss a new release. Fisher’s Light is the first time I have ever hesitated to read one of her books.

This is the story of a soldier and his wife, married young, struggling through the difficulties of military life. It captures you from the very first page, wraps around your heart and squeezes every single tear you have out. It is a heart gripping, very real look at the struggles our soldiers and their families face when they come home from battle.

 I tend to shy away from anything that deals with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, because this is something my family faces every day. Each individual experiences PTSD on a different level, but anyone this disorder has ever touched, service member or spouse, will find at least one moment in this book that you just “get”. There were so many times during Fisher and Lucy’s interactions that I thought, “Yes. Exactly that.” It felt, in a strange way, like validation.

 Fisher’s Light shines a bright and poignant light on a very difficult subject. It is a story that needed to be told. Tara Sivec did it with empathy and a keen understanding of this crippling disorder. Fisher’s Light is by far, her best work yet.
