The Flyaways by A.R. Hadley **REVIEW**

The FlyawaysThe Flyaways by A.R. Hadley
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

A.R. Hadley once again puts poetry to paper and her flawless writing and storytelling ability has yet again held me captive. The journey of two souls who loved fast, deeply and furiously their instantaneous connection felt with every line read....holding my breath wanting more and more. As they couldn't get enough of each other I couldn't get enough of them. I fell in love ..between the lines and I fell in love when lines were crossed even more. Love ..... is .... love. It knows no rules, no boundaries no faults. It isn't privy to justification. Kelley (Professor Nicolo) and Holly have the kind of love that knew no time frame nor boundaries. What a beautiful love story.

Let me say this....Kelley is not the romantic kinda guy, he is the blunt in your face this is what I want and I know you want it just as much kinda guy. So if you have issues with guys who are dominate a bit crude and 100% honest, you might not like Kelley. I did. Took me a minute to understand and not judge but I got it.

Thank you for allowing me the opportunity to read this book for you and for giving us Kelley and Holly's story.

Go get lost in this book tonight.

Excerpt:

“I’m sorry you have to go through this alone.”

“Thank you for saying that.” She blinked quickly, and she heard a rustle of blankets. Her mind detoured into a very unprofessional space. “Did you just get into bed?”

He laughed quietly. “Yeah. Are you?”

“Yeah.” There was something illicit in that simple agreement. Illicit and enticing all at once.

“So we’re in bed together?”

“Ha ha ha.” She cleared her throat, though, as a fresh heat traced over her skin, warm and needy. “Tell me more about Kearney.”

“Damn, and here I thought you were going to ask me what I was wearing to bed.”

She hesitated. Only for a moment, not giving herself time to talk herself out of her next words. “What are you wearing to bed?”

A silence that let her mind wander. “Sweats.” He paused. When he spoke, his voice was husky and thick. “Tell me what you’re wearing.”

“Yoga pants and a T-shirt,” she said softly, her cheeks turning hot. Was she really having this conversation?

“Sarah?”

“Yeah?”

“This doesn’t feel wrong to me. I just wanted you to know that.”

Truly Wicked
This is the first book by author Jessica Scott that I have read. I was not disappointed in the least. As a lover of Military Romance this was a refreshing change getting the view point of a woman that had been to war, been injured and lost her husband.
Sarah is left widowed and raising her child as a single parent while in the military. She has no family to help her and finds her self overwhelmed at times. I love how strong she is and how much she loves her little girl and does not give up.

Now Sean is back in her life. A love from long ago. Can they forgive each other and make a life together? I was cheering for them the entire time!

This was an amazing and heart warming story from start to finish. The characters were very likable, well developed and the story flowed beautifully. I highly recommend this wonderful story.

Leah Raeder Black Iris Book Review

Book Description
April 28, 2015

The next dark and sexy romantic suspense novel from the USA TODAY bestselling author of Unteachable, which was praised for its “lush, haunting prose, deft storytelling, and scorching sensuality” (M. Pierce, bestselling author of the Night Owl trilogy), and called “one of the best forbidden romances” (Lauren Blakely, New York Times bestselling author).

“Love is not a thing that we create. It’s an undoing.”

It only took one moment of weakness for Laney Keating’s world to fall apart. One stupid gesture for a hopeless crush. Then the rumors began. Slut, they called her. Queer. Psycho. Mentally ill, messed up, so messed up even her own mother decided she wasn’t worth sticking around for.

If Laney could erase that whole year, she would. College is her chance to start with a clean slate.

She’s not looking for new friends, but they find her: charming, handsome Armin, the only guy patient enough to work through her thorny defenses—and fiery, filterless Blythe, the bad girl and partner in crime who has thorns of her own.

But Laney knows nothing good ever lasts. When a ghost from her past resurfaces—the bully who broke her down completely—she decides it’s time to live up to her own legend. And Armin and Blythe are going to help.

Which was the plan all along.

Because the rumors are true. Every single one. And Laney is going to show them just how true.

She’s going to show them all.

Truly Wicked
Welcome to the world of Delaney (Laney) Keating, a girl who is tortured not only by her inner demons, but by her classmates at school as well as family members. Delaney is diagnosed with borderline personality disorder by her psychiatrist. She is also struggling coming to terms with her sexual identity. After a cruel prank at her high school, Laney’s life rapidly spirals out of control. Abusing drugs and alcohol becomes her treatment of choice which leads to a whirlwind of events.Leah writes in such a way that you are hanging on each and every word, making it practically impossible to put the book down. Some authors are able to reel you in by a single phrase and capture you for the rest of the story. That is what Leah does with Black Iris. From the very first line, I was a goner.

“We both have the same coolness, the same ocean calm, but he’s the sweet boy with a chick-magnet Tumbler and I’m the bad girl with the handgun for a heart.” This book is filled with smart, witty, sometimes funny quotes and phrases. I was thinking to myself, ‘who writes like this???’ Leah, Leah Reader writes like this, and it’s magnificent!

“It’s rare enough to find someone in this world you can love with all your heart. To have it reciprocated is a bloody miracle. And we throw it away, because it’s not perfect. Because we make mistakes.” Leah says the things that many people think and feel, but don’t say. She forces you to look at these issues head on and face the reality of them. Not only does she show us how scary and hurtful they are, but she also paints a picture of love, loyalty, and hope.

Laney’s story is filled with dark times, and angst, but it is also filed with truth. The problems that Laney is dealing with are happening to so many people. Leah shows how bullying has been taken to a whole new level with social media. How it can spiral out of control at an incredible rate. I feel like this book has such a great message in it, and that everyone should read it.

Leah sets up an intriguing timeline that gives the reader tiny clues as to where Laney is going to take us with her story without fully giving it away. She kept me guessing until the end, and I honestly didn’t know how Laney’s story was going to culminate. Leah has weaved a beautifully tragic story that will stick with readers for a very long time.
