Review by Danie - Nocturnal Surrender (The Nocturnal Surrender Series) by Author Lorraine Pearl - 5 HAWT Stars!
Painful memories drove Nicole French from her small town home to Lansford, PA in pursuit of a legal degree. The only way she can pay for that degree and support herself is to dance at a local ‘upscale’ strip club that caters to a very unique clientele. When a sexy stranger walks into the club requesting a private dance and “extra services” Nicole is both terrified and intrigued. Some of the clients like to pretend they’re vampires. A man in her life is the last thing she needs right now, but when Bastian Evanko takes a bite out of her, things heat up quickly.
Nicole is Bastian’s second chance at love. But with a war brewing between Hunters and Vampires, can he afford the risk of bringing her into his life. More importantly, can he afford not to?
I had to do a little research on this one. This is the first book by this author I have read. As it turns out, Nocturnal Surrender is the second novella in the Nocturnal Surrender Series. And what an outstanding read it was. I’ve already downloaded the other books and can’t wait to get started.
You can really feel Nicole’s tension and fears coming through the pages. She’s a small fish in a really big, really strange pond. Bastian is…well…my new book boyfriend. There is a quote in the book that describes him perfectly “Noble and kind but with a bad-boy edge….the kind that would sweep a woman off her feet, hold her down and never let her go, but still give her the freedom to be who she was.” (swoon)
The chemistry between Bastian and Nicole is off the charts HAWT! WOW!! The world building is interesting and the plot is very intriguing. I love the author’s writing style and the editing was spot on. If you are a fan of Erotic PNR, you are going to love this series. It’s kind of like Laura Wright meets Lora Leigh with a pinch of JR Ward thrown in the mix.
*I did not read the first book in this series, but do not feel lost at all. I did pick it up though and would recommend other readers do the same.
